Three major California universities will not be allowed to participate in the 2020 football season. Fresno State, San Diego State, and San Jose State Universities, as members of the 12-school Mountain West Conference, will be affected by the decision to postpone the entire fall sports season amid coronavirus uncertainty. Cross-country, women's soccer and women's volleyball are also cancelled.

There have been reports that some 2020 fall sports might be rescheduled for the spring of next year.

The Mountain West decision was announced on Monday, and ESPN is now reporting that Pac-12 presidents scheduled a meeting for Tuesday to consider the fate of their fall sports season.
