Stockton Developer To Go First, Build Affordable Housing On State Land

A Stockton developer is going to be the first to get started on an affordable housing project on excess state-owned land following Governor Gavin Newsom's executive order to make such properties available for construction of such housing.

Visionary was selected to build Stockton's first modular multi-family housing project on California's East Miner Avenue property. The project will bring nearly 100 units with one, two, and three bedrooms. The company says they'll have energy efficient electric appliances, smart home artificial intelligence technology, rooftop gardens, and solar panels.

The California Department of General Services is also looking for a developer to the lead on a project on state-owned land in South Lake Tahoe.
