CHP Investigating Possible Shooting Of PG&E Truck

The California Highway Patrol is said to be investigating a claim by a Pacific Gas & Electric worker that the company truck he was driving Tuesday on Interstate 5 in Colusa County was shot just hours before the current planned power outage was to begin.

The worker says he was driving the marked vehicle near Lenahan Road and I-5, when another vehicle pulled alongside of him. He reported hearing something like a gunshot, then one of the windows shattered. CHP hasn't been able to confirm that it was a pellet or bullet that shattered the truck window. PG&E says the worke wasn't hurt.

PG&E officials issued a statement reminding customers that the utility's workers are also their neighbors.
