CHP Placerville Searching For People Who Pushed Dog Out Car On Hwy 50

The California Highway Patrol wants to find the person who pushed a dog out of a vehicle in Placerville and left it abandoned on the side of Highway 50.

A CHP officer got to the area fairly quickly and rescued the dog before it could be hurt. Witnesses told that officer that the vehicle slowed down before the dog was pushed out onto the road, then the vehicle sped off.

Officials commented on their CHP Facebook page that there are many places to safely surrender an unwanted pet, but the freeway is not one of those places.

The agency is asking anyone with information on who may have abandoned the dog to call CHP Placerville at 916-861-1300 or El Dorado County Animal Services at 530-621-5795.
