Cold Case Homicide Video Released, Authorities Ask Public For Help

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is asking for your help in solving a cold case that cost a southside man his life in June of 2017. Sheriff Sgt.Tess Deterding says the car driven by the alleged killer is seen on red light camera footage the night 24-year-old JU'an Parker was shot and killed in his car along "J" Parkway in South Sacramento.

"The suspect vehicle is a dark colored compact sedan, four door, either a Nissan Versa or a very similar vehicle."

Deterding says that sedan had stopped for a red light on Florin Road at the intersection of East Parkway. When Parker's car crossed Florin - the suspect quickly made a right turn from the middle lane and began to follow Parker. Detectives hope identifying the sedan in question will give them the break they need to solve this case.

Anyone knowing the identity of the suspects or the suspect vehicle is urged to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP. Tip information may also be left anonymously at https://www.sacsheriff.com/ or by calling (916) 874-TIPS (8477).
