Report: CA Needs More Affordable Rentals

The California Housing Authority says the state is horribly lacking in affordable rental units.

The Sacramento Bee says the agency estimates at least one-point-four million new units are needed to meet the demand.

The report says the great majority of low-income renters spend more than half their income on rent.

The report also suggests the state needs to spend more on housing and offer more tax breaks to low-income families.
