Video footage shows the suspect accused of killing a married couple in front of their children at Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas was arrested in the middle of a haircut.

Andrew James McGann, 28, who previously as a fifth grade teacher in Oklahoma, was charged with two counts of capital murder and is being held in the Washington County Jail, ABC News reports. McGann, who confessed to the crimes but is expected to plead not guilty, was detained at Lupita's Beauty Salon in Springdale, Arkansas, on Wednesday (July 30), days after the killings of Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, on July 26, as captured in surveillance footage.

Hairstylist Adriana Ruiz Avalos said she had "an eerie feeling" about McGann before she began the haircut during an interview with NewsNation Thursday (July 31) night.

ā€œAs soon as I saw him, as I was telling him to come into my chair, I had an eerie feeling about him,ā€ she said.

ā€œHe looked soulless. He didn’t look right," Avalos added.

The hairstylist said she had never seen McGann before the day of his arrest and described him as having "very sunken" eyes and "very dry and matted" hair. The suspect allegedly told Avalos not to cut anything off the top to keep his eyes covered as he was continuing to evade police.

The Brinks were reportedly attacked in front of their daughters, ages 7 and 9, who were safely located nearby the popular hiking trail without injuries.

"They absolutely protected those girls to their fullest extent, to the point that they cost them their lives. We're in awe of this mom and dad," said Col. Mike Hagar, director of the Arkansas State Police Department via USA TODAY. "We're also in awe of these girls. The information that they were able to provide to start us down this path, to be able to make this arrest. It all started with those two little girls."
