Delta Air Lines Plane Crashed While Landing At Toronto Airport

A Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis to Toronto Pearson Airport overturned while landing on Monday (February 17), causing a major incident at the airport. The aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ-900LR operated by Endeavour Air for Delta Connection, came to rest upside down on the tarmac as it caught on fire. Emergency teams, including airport fire and rescue, quickly responded to the scene.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has closed all runways at the airport as authorities, including Peel Regional Police, investigate the crash.

According to a statement from Toronto Pearson Airport, all 80 passengers and crew members were evacuated from the plane and have been accounted for. According to NBC News, 15 people were injured. Thirteen people, including a child, suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Two others were airlifted to the hospital with severe injuries.

The aircraft involved in the accident, identified as N932XJ, is 16.6 years old. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and more details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.

Travelers in the area are advised to follow official guidance, and the airport remains closed until further notice.
