Tesla isĀ recalling all 2024 model-year CybertrucksĀ because the accelerator pedal can become stuck.

"On affected vehicles, when high force is applied to the pad on the accelerator pedal, the pad may dislodge, which may cause the pedal to become trapped in the interior trim above the pedal,"Ā the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wrote in the recall notice.

The agency said that the unapproved use of soap as a lubricant caused the issue.

"An unapproved change introduced lubricant (soap) to aid in the component assembly of the pad onto the accelerator pedal. Residual lubricant reduced the retention of the pad to the pedal," the NHTSA said.

Tesla hasĀ not received any reports of accidentsĀ or injuries due to the issue.

The electric car company said that owners can bring their Cybertruck to a dealer, where technicians will replace the accelerator free of charge.

You can check to see if your car is under recall by going toĀ nhtsa.gov/recallsĀ and entering your 17-digit vehicle identification number.
