Crane Collapse At Hard Rock Hotel Leaves 2 People Dead

Rescue workers are continuing to dig through the rubble at the Hard Rock Hotel in New Orleans to find a construction worker who became trapped when a crane collapsed, causing a section of the building to come crashing to the ground. Two people were killed, and 18 others were injured in the accident.

Officials are not sure what caused the crane to collapse and have warned that the building is unstable. They brought in a second crane to help stabilize the structure while they search for the trapped worker.

Dramatic video captured the building pancake on top itself, sending dust and debris crashing down onto the street below. There were about 100 workers inside at the time.

Authorities ordered nearby buildings to be evacuated due to concerns that the collapse may have caused structural damage to them as well.
