Whistleblower: Flynn Told Associate Russian Sanctions Would Be 'Ripped Up'

New details are emerging about President Trump's former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and his relationship to Russia.  According to an account from a whistleblower made public yesterday, Flynn told one of his former business associates that economic sanctions against Russia would be "ripped up"  --  just minutes into Trump's presidency.  Flynn reportedly believed that ending the sanctions would allow a business deal he had once been a part of to move forward.  The project involved working with Russia to build nuclear power plants in the Middle East.

Flynn pleaded guilty last week to lying to the FBI about his contact with the Russian Ambassador.

He is the first Trump Administration official to be charged in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into election interference.
